Farming & Breeding

Ann Banks:

My husband, David Banks, has been a loyal Kentucky Thoroughbred race horse trainer for over 25 years. Together, we own a farm and have bred in the state, but because of the state of the Thoroughbred industry in Kentucky, David has been forced to move his string and the broodmares to Louisiana. It has gotten to the point where he is now looking to relocate permanently.  The horses are gone, and with them went my job as well as the jobs of our employees and the farm will most likely be put up for sale. With the exodus of the horses, we can no longer do business with local feed stores, hay and straw producers, the tack store, vet, and farrier.  It is so sad and very frustrating.
