Cindy Rullman:
Cindy's professional career in the horse industry was launched while a student at Eastern Kentucky University through an internship at Spendthrift Farm, working as a groom in the broodmare department and as a hot walker at Keeneland.
As a self-avowed racing fanatic, she was determined to learn about the business from a number of different aspects, and spent time working for a wide variety of Thoroughbred businesses ranging from pedigree research, yearling training, foal intensive care unit, equine advertising, selling stallion seasons, to ministry outreach for farm and backstretch workers, and equine rescue.
For the past five years she has worked in marketing and public relations for the Kentucky Horse Park, where she is also involved in her pet project, the annual John Henry Memorial Equine Adoption Fair. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Center for Women in Racing and for the Kentucky Equine Humane Center, and is involved in a number of Christian ministries and animal welfare organizations.
After having experienced the horse industry from stalls to boardrooms, Cindy's goals are clear: to encourage a cultural shift that would make the welfare of the horse an industry-wide priority, not only for the sake of the horse, but for the survival of the industry she loves.
