Recreational Riding
Nancy Dozier:
I'm been a horse nut all of my life….didn't get my own horse, though until high school. My poor parents were NOT horse people & I drove them nuts until I was able to drive ( a car) & get myself to the stables/farms where the horses were.
I bought a farm a few years ago in KY and started to explore horse industry venues. I'm still exploring…..but I'm ALL for improving things for Kentucky's PREMIER Industry with anything I can do to help give KY horse people a voice.
I board a few horses from time to time & do some horse hauling.
I've done it all, from western barrel racing to dressage; hunter & jumpers in between. I'm now into driving & trail riding. Of course, to keep my competitive edge going, I'm getting into the CDE end of driving.
I was going to get into thoroughbred racing, but life changed that idea. I still have a couple of thoroughbreds, 1 of which is going to be my CDE horse, the other is a dressage/jumper.
My 1st love has always been draft horses & I'm happy to say I have a WONDERFUL Shire. I'm looking into breeding these gentle giants…they are really pretty rare in Kentucky, so I'm hoping to change that in years to come !
