My husband Dave and I ride with a group of trail riders from Scott County. We travel all over Kentucky and surrounding states in search of the perfect scenic trail. We love Kentucky but fear that more and more trails in our parks are being closed to horses. I was the Grand Parade coordinator for the Festival of the Horse in Scott County from 2004-2007 and met people with many breeds of horses. We mirrored the Parade of Breeds at the Kentucky Horse Park with over 20 different breeds highlighted each year at the Parade. We felt that Scott Countians should be educated about other breeds of horses and this event was the perfect venue. We had over 300 ridden and driven horses participate last year. Scott County is a hotbed of different breeds and we are proud of our horse heritage.
