Robert Stepp:

In 1976 as a teenager I went to work on a Walking Horse farm that joined our farm in Lewisburg, TN. Dr. Dewitt Owen was the vet this farm used, and he had a huge impact on me getting involved in the horse industry. After graduating in 1982 with a degree in Agriculture from the University of Tennessee, I have spent the last 27 years working in the horse industry, managing farms, working with a feed company in Kentucky and running a business that makes equine bedding and flooring for horse stalls.

My goal was to do something that would help impact or change the horse industry and the people involved. Today our company, Hunt Club Animal Bedding, has developed a bedding product that is very helpful for horses with allergies, skin conditions, or any type of respiratory issues. Our stall grid helps make barn stall management easier, and actually cuts down the amount of bedding one has to use. Developing new products for this industry that work hand in hand with the environment has been a challenge, but has also been rewarding. It is never dull when you work with horse people on a daily basis.
