I fell in love with horses when I was young but never had the facilities to actually own my own.

I rented horses every opportunity possible and would collect returnable coke bottles to pay their rent. When I went to college, I majored in Agriculture and Business Administration at WKU and soon found myself in corporate America making a decent living. I decided that it was time to buy my own horse, now that I could afford it. I bought my first horse in 1987- a Saddlebred mare. Two years after buying her, I bought a Quarter Horse mare and bred her to a friend's stallion, producing a beautiful bay colt.

I soon learned that this was my passion and started attending schools all over the country to get certified in breeding, collecting, ultrasounding, and nutrition. Once I completed these courses we built J Bar E Ranch which is a full service breeding/foaling facility located in Franklin, KY. It is run by our family and we pride ourselves on the great care and successes we have had over the last 10 years.
