Who We Are
The People Behind Kentucky's Horse Industry:
We are the men and women of Kentucky's horse industry, the often unseen faces behind an industry that makes Kentucky famous the world over.
There are almost one-hundred thousand of us, people who depend on a healthy horse industry to support our families, send our kids to school, and allow us to be active in our local communities.
So many think that the horse industry is primarily millionaire hobbyists - and there are a handful of those, but the reality is that the vast majority of us work hard every day to try and make a living.
We drive horse trailers, we grow hay, we sell equine insurance, we muck stalls, we build and paint fences.
We are vets, farriers, small business owners, tack suppliers, landscapers.
We work hard and make a significant financial contribution to our state.
But our jobs are leaving.
Without quick action from the Legislature, our competitor states will succeed in stealing our signature industry away. And when they do, we will either lose our jobs, or be forced to move to another state.
Please join us, by urging our elected officials to stand up for Kentucky's horse industry, and the thousands of us who depend on it for our livelihoods.
